TEHRAN – Milkan Publications has recently released a Persian version of “When Breath Becomes Air” that is the memoires of Indian-American neurosurgeon and writer Paul Kalanithi (1977–2015), who was diagnosed with a metastatic lung cancer at the age of 36.
Rendered into Persian by Sanaz Karimi, the book gently chronicles Kalanithi’s transformation from a native medical student into a neurosurgeon at Stanford University, and finally into a patient and new father confronting his own mortality.
The original version of “When Breath Becomes Air” was posthumously published by Random House in January 2016. It soon became one of the New York Times bestsellers and an Amazon best book in last January.
